World Racing Debut

The Lamborghini Temerario GT3 makes its international competition debut at this very event — the 2026 12 Hours of Sebring. This is literally the first time this car has competed in international motorsport. Pfaff Motorsports has the honor and pressure of writing the first chapter of the Temerario's racing history.

About Pfaff Motorsports

Pfaff Motorsports is a Canadian racing team backed by Pfaff Automotive Partners, one of Canada's largest luxury car dealer groups (representing Porsche, Lamborghini, Volvo, and other premium brands). The team has been one of IMSA's most successful customer racing outfits, winning multiple IMSA championships, and now transitions to Lamborghini's newest platform.

For 2026, Pfaff makes a historic leap: abandoning the proven Porsche 911 GT3 R they campaigned for years in favor of the brand-new Lamborghini Temerario GT3. This is a bold bet — fielding an unproven car in a highly competitive class — but Pfaff's technical expertise and Lamborghini's factory support make them the ideal team to launch the Temerario's racing career.

The Car: Lamborghini Temerario GT3

The Temerario (Italian for "reckless" or "daring") is Lamborghini's new mid-engine supercar, the successor to the celebrated Huracán. Like the Huracán GT3 before it, a full GT3 race version has been developed for customer racing teams around the world. But unlike the Huracán's naturally aspirated V10, the Temerario uses a high-revving twin-turbocharged V8 — a significant technical departure for Lamborghini. The GT3 version is stripped of luxury features, adds a full roll cage, racing slick tires, and adjustable aerodynamics to compete under international GT3 regulations.

Sebring 2026 is the car's competitive baptism. Every lap run by the #9 is a data point — the team is simultaneously racing and developing the car's setup, tire behavior, and strategic profile from scratch.

Why This Matters

A new GT3 car debut is a rare and significant event in motorsport. GT3 cars represent the most popular category of professional sports car racing worldwide, run in dozens of championships on every continent. When a manufacturer launches a new GT3 model, it is a major commitment — these cars will be raced for five to ten years by hundreds of teams globally. The Temerario's debut at Sebring means this historic Florida circuit is where it all begins.

The Drivers

Andrea Caldarelli (Italy) is Lamborghini Squadra Corse's lead factory GT driver. Before his GT career, Caldarelli was a single-seater racer who competed in Super Formula — Japan's top-tier open-wheel series, often called the Japanese equivalent of Formula 1. His transition to GT racing has been enormously successful, making him the ideal driver to debut a new Lamborghini.

Sandy Mitchell (Great Britain) is a British GT racing specialist with experience in LMGT3 (the new Le Mans GT class) and multiple European championships. His consistent pace over long stints makes him well-suited to Sebring's 12-hour format.

Franck Perera (France) is a French Lamborghini factory driver with extensive WEC and Blancpain GT Series experience. His years racing Lamborghinis — including earlier generations like the Huracán — give the team crucial institutional knowledge as they transition platforms.

Pfaff's Championship History

Pfaff Motorsports has been one of IMSA's most consistent performers, claiming multiple GTD and GTD Pro class championships. Their ability to develop car setups quickly and execute clean pit stops makes them strong contenders even with a new car platform.

What is GTD Pro?

GTD Pro is IMSA's top GT class, requiring fully professional driver lineups rated Platinum or Gold by the FIA. Learn more about IMSA car classes →
